Description

This is a Photoshop composite using 1 image as reference, aligning other images in the loaded stack and with masking adding the meteors back onto the reference best image.

Although saw about 15 meteors only able to capture these as the others were in different parts of the sky.  As yesterday, there were a lot of satellites crossing as well but these have not been included.

Images captured between 04h00 and 05h45 this morning.

At this time of the year are the Eta Aquarids meteor shower (originates from Haley's Comet) in the Constellation Aquarius.

Peak timeframe a few days before and after the 7th of May.

Colours of meteors depend on the relative influence of the metallic content
  • Orange-yellow (sodium)
  • Yellow (iron)
  • Blue-green (magnesium)
  • Violet (calcium)
  • Red (atmospheric nitrogen and oxygen)

Canon 800D and Rokinon 14mm at f/4 and ISO1600. 30 sec exposures.
